rsvp (if u r cool and hot)
So, it's time to donate. Well, there's three ways to do this.
First, you can Venmo Jorge directly. Or send money via Zelle. Or slip him some cash I guess. The point is, get him some money, make sure to note it's specifically a donation for for the two causes, and Jorge will do the hardwork of making sure it gets donated via 50/50 split to the two organizations. This is the best option if you want to make a smaller donation and/or you do not care about the tax benefits of making a donation to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. At the end of the night (or, let's be honest with ourselves, the next morning day) Jorge will do the donations, and upload here proof that the money has been donated, as well as announce how much money was raised this way.
The second way to donate is to give money directly to the organizations. If you want to enter the raffles for the items this night, just make sure you email a screenshot or other receipt of your donation to [insert email address specifically set up to track donations for this event here]. You only need to give to one of the two organizations to enter the raffles this way, but if you donate to both, you are a kind and generous soul, and your kindness and generosity will be noted. This is definitely the method of donation if you want to give a specific amount to one or both of the organizations that's not 50/50, and/or if you're someone who definitely cares about the tax benefits of charitable giving. If you give us the amount donated, we can include the donation totals with those from the step above, which will let us accurately know how many total dollars were raised/donated during this house benefit show. To donate this way, follow the links below, next to the information about each of the two organizations.
The final way to donate is actually basically the same as the second way, except it's through both organizations' monthly/yearly donation tracker. If you want to be a monthly or yearly giver to the organizations below, that's awesome. There's no special prize, other than the satisfaction of knowing that the organizations will greatly benefit from repeat giving. (*Note, one or both organizations might send you a special note or treat in the mail, or there might be some other benefit that Jorge did not consider to being a monthly giver. That's cool, too.)
Anyways, a little about the causes...
"Casa de Paz welcomes recently released newcomers, Asylum seekers, and immigrants; we facilitate their next steps towards reunifications with loved ones in a dignifying way.
We welcome guests who are released from the immigration detention center in Aurora, CO. We provide them a safe temporary space to go to so they can connect with their loved ones and make travel arrangements on to their final destination.
Casa de Paz began in 2012 as a small, one-bedroom apartment offering hospitality to families separated by immigrant detention.
Now, we are a short 10 minute walk away from the detention center.
Since 2012 we’ve hosted over 20,000 guests from over 82 countries."
"Our mission is to network, educate, and form advocates for social justice animated by the spirituality of St. Ignatius of Loyola and the witness of the Jesuit martyrs of El Salvador and their companions.
Rooted in the spiritual tradition of St. Ignatius of Loyola and Catholic Social Teaching, we seek change through transformational programs and resources that deepen faith and lead to dismantling systemic injustice; collaborative initiatives that bridge divides and overcome exclusion; and collective action to defend and promote the inherent dignity of all God’s creation—both people and planet."
